Cabana Home
For over 19 years, design partners Caroline Thompson and Steve Thompson have brought their signature modernism to classic Santa Barbara Style at renowned Cabana Home. Ask them how that unique vision was refined, and you’ll discover their careers starting at the legendary luxury purveyor Neiman Marcus, to real estate development of over 30 homes between Dallas, Santa Fe, and Montecito. Now, their by-appointment-only showroom and interior design studio in the landmark Italianate Victorian “Fabled Gables” built in 1874, is central California’s exclusive home to legendary makers like Thibaut, Lee, Baker, Arteriors, Janus et Cie, Bernhardt, Visual Comfort, Currey & Co, Hickory Chair, and Century, plus one-of-a-kind lighting, textiles, and accessories from around the globe. Their team offers full design services, space planning, building plan review, and project management for both residential and commercial properties and, as always, is also available for video or on-site consultations.

DIANI Living
DIANI Living opened in 2014, and offers everyday home and lifestyle items that embody beauty, functionality and soul. From proprietary furniture, pillows, linens, candles and more to flatware, bedding, bath, one-of-a-kind vintage items and books. Caroline and Jeffrey, co-collaborator on DIANI Living, curate what they would like to see in either of the homes they share.
For as long as I can remember, my passion has been exploring the why behind that feeling you get when you’re surrounded by things that move you and make your soul sing. I find so much joy in bringing to life this idea through clothing, home décor and more.
Established in 2002, we built relationships with customers by offering premium quality designers that fit into their lifestyles, with detailed knowledge and service.
Building DIANI with my incredible team is one of my proudest achievements, and I am so excited to share it with you, our cherished Santa Barbara community.
Why the name DIANI? I was born in Nairobi, Kenya and my parents loved weekend trips to the coast. One of their favorite beaches was DIANI Beach, and, so when I was born, they named me after it (it’s my middle name).

Emily Joubert
Emily Joubert was founded in honor of my grandmother, whose refined eye and quiet elegance inspired my lifelong love of design. From early driveway sales to years in fashion and interiors with Esprit and Ralph Lauren, my journey has always centered around collecting beautiful things and sharing them with others. With my husband, Mike, and our two sons, I spent years abroad gathering antiques and stories that now shape our stores in Woodside, San Francisco, and Montecito. Each shop reflects our belief in thoughtful design, simple pleasures, and the enduring influence of a well-made object.
We’ve built Emily Joubert as an extension of our home and values, where climbing roses, jars of garden honey, and vintage treasures from Hungarian markets all have a place. My grandmother’s portrait hangs in every store, a quiet reminder of her timeless grace—and the spirit that guides everything we do.
